Chew Toys.jpg

This could also be in the items to have prior to bringing your puppy home. This is a great deal of 20 different
"teething" items to keep your pup occupied when alone and when not. Also, it is a great redirect item from chewing on things you DON'T want them to chew on. While crate training my pups, I do offer items like this so they associate something pleasant while in their crate.

Kong Toy.jpg

The classic Kong toy...this is a durable chew toy, especially for German Shepherds. I like that you can add treats inside of the toy to keep your pup mentally stimulated trying to figure out how to get to the "treat". This is great for pups going through the teething phase, but also for adult dogs to give them something to do during crate time or just relaxing around the house. It is versatile product.

Tug Toys.jpg

I have picked this rope chew product(s) because it is a package for one, but also because rope toys in general are great for teething puppies. There are different sizes based on the dog's age so as your pup grows, they can play with the larger ropes. Thirdly, if you have more than one dog, these rope toys can become a playful item between the two of them. The ball rope, lastly, can be thrown for interactive play between you and your pup.

Snuffle Mat.jpg

So, in all honesty I had not heard of a snuffle mat before...but after looking into it I think it would be pretty cool for puppies. This particular product is 28x28 which is on the larger size compared to others. But this interactive toy fuels your pups' foraging skills. By placing dry dog food or treats on the mat, the food sinks down into the crevasses of the mat and the dog uses his/her nose to find the food. Pretty cool! Also, it can be machine washed although hand washing is preferred.

Lick Mat.jpg

I have used lick mats before, and they are great attention keepers. By putting something like peanut butter on it, the mat will keep your pup engaged. It is another interactive toy. Fun, yes, but I have also used them at vet visits, for example, when one of my dogs had to get laser therapy treatments. We used the mat to keep that particular dog occupied while we finished his treatments and it was wonderful! Having a slow feeder built into this same mat is simply an added bonus.

Frozen Teething Toy.jpg

This is a frozen teething stick but also a dental dog chew, perfect for teething puppies. A few other options in size, shape and color are offered through this vendor. At this price it's a steal!
