Dog Crate.jpg

Can be used for safe sleep, crate training and even feeding separately if you have multiple dogs. This one comes with a divider so your puppy can grow up in the crate without having to buy another one as he gets bigger. A 42" is generally a good size for an adult size female (GSD) and a 48" is generally a good size for an adult male (GSD)

Dog Crate Bed.jpg

Having a crate bed with some softness and padding helps with joint relief while your puppy/dog is in it's crate, especially as he/she gets older. It also helps to simulate a place for comfort and sleep, their own little "cave" so to speak. At V Diamondburg Kennels, we introduce beds to the litter during the time they are with us to teach them that there is a place to sleep, eat and "potty".

Puppy Playpen.jpg

This is a very versatile product. If not wanting to use a crate for your pup, you can use a playpen. It is super easy to put together, no tools required, it is portable when you break it down and be used indoors or outdoors. But I'm envisioning individuals that have to work and leave their pups for a bit of time, this playpen can offer a spatial option versus the confinement of a crate. Also, this playpen pairs well with the artificial grass turf pee pad, which we use to "potty train" our litters.

Dog Collar and Leash.jpg

One of the most basic items you will need when you get your new puppy is a collar and leash. I picked this particular product because there are a multitude of colors and sizes to choose from, it's made from nylon (sturdy) material, is reasonably priced and includes both the collar and leash together, not sold separately.

ID Tags.jpg

We include a microchip in the price of your puppy when purchased through our kennel and an ID tag is included with that microchip number. However, you still may opt for an additional identification tag to add more information about your pup. This particular product comes in multiple shapes and sizes and allows for up to 8 lines of information.

Grass Pad.jpg

Over several years we have tried different methods to "potty train" our litters. We have had the best result using this grass pee pad. Because it is like the "real thing" (grass) it helps the puppy transition from this indoor pee pad (starting at 4 weeks old) to outdoor grass. The point is to teach the puppy even at the early age of 4-8 weeks that there is a specific place to "potty", sleep and play. But beyond the obvious reason of potty training, I am also considering the individual that has to work during the day and doesn't want to leave their pup at a loss of the ability to use the bathroom. If you pair the puppy playpen with this pee pad, it allows your puppy (who is already familiar with this setup) the freedom to use the bathroom in the appropriate place versus accidents elsewhere.

Travel Bottle.jpg

When I travel with my dogs, they are usually in a crate with water bowls attached to the crate "wall".  However, when you travel with your puppy, having a travel bottle/feeder that you can take with you while out and about could be really convenient. After looking around, the product here looks like a great option. There are multiple sizes, suitable for a German Shepherd, and colors. It holds both food and water as well as a built-in container to dispense both.

Enzyme Cleaner.jpg

Why an enzyme cleaner? While continuing to teach your pup where to go potty, it is very likely that they may have accidents. An enzyme cleaner sprayed where the accident happened will cover/eliminate the scent for them to potty there again.
